Why should anyone visit our little neck of the woods? It’s not just about the river. Don’t get us wrong, the river is an integral part of our daily lives here, but Hardy is a little GEM!
With the advent of a new mayor and renewed spirit amongst the people, volunteers are slowly coming out to make improvements everywhere. Cleaning up a forgotten lot and turning it into a community garden spot for this summer, building a raised bed planter for our senior center’s herb garden/farmers market project, are two of the peoples’ way to make their city more beautiful and useful. The pocket park is scheduled to be up and ready for all to enjoy the arts and entertainment we have in these thar hills. The RV park will have a new 8-hub 50 amp section for rigs this year that will help our area out immensely. The Hardy Civic Center is available for small events and meetings and currently working toward the much needed updates to be able to host larger scale events. These are just a few things that will be worth the wait and you can check out programs under our events heading for current info.
Kristin Proulx (Leaves and Beans) and Laura Smith (Artasia) will be working on a “Tour of Hardy” spot lighting our unique businesses downtown and the local area. Many new businesses are planning spring 2018 openings and still others for the following year. Buildings are being revitalized and restored to their former beauty or being revamped with some modernizations all to enhance your next visit.
Stay tuned for pictures and videos!!!!!!!!
We will be looking forward to seeing you in Hardy…
