The Pig 'n Whistle, located at 107 E. Main Street in downtown Hardy, offers a selection of Anglo-American cuisine including signature dishes of cod and chips and some homemade Cornish Pasties. Breakfast is served all day and also a special Sunday lunch. The café serves outstanding burgers, seafood and vegetarian dishes as well.

In addition to the unique restaurant, there is a small gift shop on the premises, with some unique gifts and souvenirs keeping with the British theme. You can also have your photo taken with the life-size cutouts of Queen Elizabeth or Prince William and Kate.
The name of the cafe originates from long ago in 'Merrie Olde' England, where the Pig 'n Whistle was a tavern sign, derived from "Piggen Wassail," meaning "Good Health." A pig and whistle was used on a sign, as many people could not read at that time. The pig represented meat or food in general, and also a drinking cup. Whistle is referred to in early Anglo-Saxon as the mouth or throat. Hence the expression "wet your whistle."

Today, the name of this cafe is not only down to this old English reference, but was chosen with the 'pig' representing the Arkansas Razorback and the 'whistle' representing the trains that can be heard from the nearby railroad.
